A project to make footwear using polyurethane with a renewable content has been started by Dow Polyurethane Systems with funding by the European Commission.The Green Footprint programme, in which Dow is working with Italian shoe sole producer Mondial Suole, has been given a grant from the EC's 2008 LIFE+ programme, which aims to reduce the environmental impact of goods and services and promotes "clean," innovative technologies.
