Norwegian newcomer Borr Drilling has inked a letter of intent to acquire Transocean’s entire fleet of shallow-water jackup rigs for $1.35 billion, the company announced on Monday. The deal includes 10 operational rigs plus five now being built at Singapore’s Keppel Fels yard. The price tag includes the remaining contract backlog for the operating rigs plus outstanding instalments for the newbuilds.
