Load carry capacity of corroded reinforced concrete beams under repeated load was investigated experimentally. A total of fifteen test samples, including three non-corrosion and twelve corroded reinforced concrete (RC) beams, were experimentally evaluated for midspan deflection, cracking of concrete, and failing modes under repeated loading. Beams of different corrosion percentage were tested for the effect of steel corrosion and repeated loading. For corroded RC beams width and spacing of cracks increased significantly with steel corrosion. Before the yielding of the reinforcement steel, midspan deflection for beams of lower corrosion percentage was less than that of non-corrosion beams. However, as the reinforcement steel yielded, the midspan deflection of corroded beams was significantly larger than those of non-corrosion beams, and this tended to increase with corrosion percentage. As the reinforcing steel was severely corroded, the beam showed a mechanical characteristic similar to a camber, where arch action was more obvious.
