PET DRYING SYSTEM SAVES SPACE AND ENERGY

A new drying system from Maguire Europe is designed to enable processors of PET to save on plar space, maintenance, and energy while maintaining performance through automatic adjustment to rate and material variations. The IntelliPET drying system (built by Novatec) is a wheel-type dryer, but takes up only 55 to 60 per cent of the floor space needed for other wheel dryer-based systems for PET, and uses 40 to 50 per cent less energy than conventional systems based on dual desiccant bed dryers, according to Maguire. Automated temperature and speed controls adjust to variations in throughput rate, moisture level, and material temperature and provide a constant temperature of the material as it exits the hopper.
