Determination of Buckling Loads and Mode Shapes of a Heavy Vertical Column under its Own Weight Using the Variational Iteration Method

摘要

This paper applies the variational iteration method for finding buckling loads and mode shapes of a heavy column. The study shows efficiency of the method and accuracy of the obtained analytic approximate solution.
