H_3N(CH_2)_3NH_3·Zn(HPO_3)_2 containing four-ring chains of ZnO_4 tetrahedra and HPO_3 pseudo pyramids

The solution-mediated synthesis and single-crystal structure of H_3N(CH_2)_3·Zn(HPO_3)_2 are reported. This phase is built up from chains of vertex-linked ZnO_4 and HPO_3 building units crosslinked by 1,3-diammonium propane cations. The relationship of the title compound to known zinc phosphate phases is briefly discussed.
