摘要

Supply chain management and total quality management can help provide organisations with a sustainable competitive advantage by improving product quality and service while reducing cost. An effective purchasing function is one of the essential competencies to quality management and supply chain success. The objective of this research is to examine empirically a model relating the implementation of quality management practices in the purchasing function with purchasing's operational performance and internal customer satisfaction. All measurement scales satisfy key measurement criteria including unidimen-sionality, convergent validity, discriminant validity and reliability. The results of the study show that the implementation of quality management practices in purchasing is significantly related to the achievement of increasing levels of purchasing's operational performance and internal customer satisfaction.
