In March the Northern Ireland Textiles and Apparel Association (NITA) held its 5th Annual Conference at the Galgorm Manor Hotel, near Ballymena, with the title of 'STEP CHANGES INTO THE. MILLENNIUM'. In his " introductory remarks, Mr Sean O'Dwyer mentioned that whilst the textile and clothing . sector in Northern Ireland had undoubtedly suffered losses during the past year, these had been- more than balanced by new investment, and compared more than favourably with results in Europe generally.
