I read with interest the article by Tatsumi et al on the association between retinal nerve fibre layer (RNFL) thickness and relative afferent pupillary defect (RAPD) in asymmetric glaucoma. The authors have defined unilateral glaucoma in 20 patients on the basis of the visual field. But nine patients had asymmetric bilateral glaucoma. It is not mentioned whether the authors have used optic disc findings or visual field analysis or both as criteria in these nine patients. If they have used visual field analysis, then the criteria need to be mentioned. However, most of the definitions of asymmetric glaucoma are based on optic disc findings.
