Combination with specific application techniques, such as intra-myocardial injection, catheter-based delivery, ultrasound targeted microbubble destruction, may further enhance vector efficiency [1-4]. The goals of this study were as follows: a) evaluate the feasibility and safety of a catheter-based transendocardial injection of mixture of gene and microbubbles and intracardiac insonation in normal myocardium, b) determine whether in intramyocardial delivery the mixture of low-dosed pEGFP and microbubble combination of intracardiac insonation could further enhance EGFP expression. The materials and methods are as the following.
