Bleb associated endophthalmitis with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

Bleb-associated endophthalmitis (BAE) is a rare postoperative complication with a poor visual prognosis that can occur long after surgery. Community-acquired methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA), an increasingly common and resistant infectant, is first reported here to cause BAE. Conventional medications and methods of treatment are currently adequate.A patient presented with MRSA BAE, which was successfully treated by intravitreal tap and injection, with a course of vancomycin (table 1, figure 1).
