US Oil Output Continues Recovery From Ida Outages

Oil production in the US continued to climb out of the hole dug by Hurricane Ida, according to estimates from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), although ongoing offshore outages may prevent a rapid return to pre-storm levels. The agency’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report, published Wednesday, showed that US oil production averaged 10.6 million barrels per day in the week ended Sep. 17, up 500,000 b/d from the prior week.
