摘要

Infertility and childlessness are unaddressed and disregarded issues in populous low-resource countries such as India. Although the exact prevalence of infertility is unknown in India, National Health Surveys have reported it to be about 3%-8% [1,2]. However, its incidence is likely to be under-reported because of the immense stigma. The need to bear a child is universal and women often bear the brunt of childlessness and become victims of social isolation, neglect, depression, violence, abuse, and economic deprivation.
