Shoulder dystocia is an infrequent and often unpredictable complication of delivery that requires rapid and well-coordinated action from the birth attendants. Several procedures, but not the "all-fours" (or Gaskin) maneuver, have been recommended by the American College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists for the management of delivery in cases of shoulder dystocia . Nor was this maneuver - a rapid, safe, and effective technique for the management of shoulder dystocia - mentioned in important standard textbooks such as the 2005 edition of Williams Obstetrics or the 1999 edition of Danforth's Obstetrics and Gynecology [A]. The aim of this report is to share the author's experience with this maneuver in 2different delivery positions, the lithotomy and the squatting positions.
