The problem of the interfacial cracks, between a circular inhomogeneity and an infinite piezoelectric medium subject to an inplane electric load as well as an antiplane shear at infinity, is studied by using the complex variable method. A novel feature of the present work is that the cracks are treated as permeable thin slits, across which both the normal component of electric displacement and the tangential component of electric field are considered to be continuous. Based on these continuous conditions, the complex potentials and field intensity factors are obtained in closed-form. It is shown that the singularity of electric field is dependent on that of stress.
