Remarks on macrocrack-microcrack interaction and related problems

An analytical solution representing the interactionof a macrocrack with a collinear microcrack is re-examined. Thepurpose of the analysis is to separate the singular term and torepresent the remaining part of the solution as a boundedfunction in the form of a uniformly convergent power series.Some aspects of the solution in application to fracturedevelopment in composites are discussed.
