Agricultural Diversification in Kuya River Basin of Eastern India: Status and Changes

摘要

This paper deals with status and temporal trend of crop diversification in the blocks come within the Kuya river basin. Areal proportion of different crops in different blocks has collected from Statistical Hand book of Birbhum, Murshidabad and Burdwan districts, Govt, of West Bengal. Results show that the overall status of crop diversification is very low almost in all the blocks. Trend of crop diversification since 1993-94 to 2007-08 is gradually declining in the blocks of lower catchment and viceversa in the upper catchment of the said basin.
