I am an American emergency nurse, and have been living in Kuwait for about 2 years. I just read a statement from George Castledine (BJN, 14(18)):'Recently jean Clarke (senior nursing lecturer) from Dublin and I were sharing our experiences of nursing in third world countries when she suddenly said, 'the trouble with "care" is that you only recognize it when it is not present...' I couldn't agree more.
