Examining the role of personal traumas in a nurse's work life

Personal trauma has the potential to affect any professional's work life.This is especially the case for nurses, however, because they work directly with people whose experiences may trigger the same traumatic memories, potentially interfering with their ability to care. Interestingly, though, there is very little discussion of this issue in the literature, as most research focuses on trauma resulting from nursing work itself.
