Economic evaluation and multivariate analysis of cycles of different crop rotations.

To examine economics of different crop rotations, an experiment was conducted during the years 2000-01 to 2005-06 at Durgapura, Rajasthan centre with Randomised Complete Block Design (RCBD) in four replications and ten treatments (different crop sequences spread over two years in each rotation). The results indicated that clusterbean-onion-fallow; groundnut-wheat-fallow crop rotation gave highest gross returns of Rs. 132253/ha and calories 33005k x 103 units/ha, which is significantly different with the other crop rotations. In terms of protein equivalents, clusterbean-barley - pearlmillet (fodder); clusterbean-wheat - fallow crop rotation found to be best and gave 1102 kg/ha of proteins, which is statistically at par with pearlmillet-mustard - fallow; clusterbean - wheat - fallow (1091 kg/ha), pearlmillet - mustard - fallow, groundnut - wheat - fallow (1062 kg/ha) and clusterbean - onion - fallow; groundnut - wheat - fallow (1099 kg/ha) crop rotations.
