A laboratory experiment on different culture media, temperature, light Intensities and pH levels on the mycelial growth of Hypsizygus ulmarius was conducted during 2007 at Department of Plant Pathology, Rajasthan College of Agriculture, Udaipur. Out of six culture media tested maximum mycelial growth was recorded in malt extract agar medium 2% (79.88 mm) followed by malt extract agar medium 1% (79.25 mm). Four temperatures tested, maximum mycelial growth of H. ulmarius was observed at 25±1°C whileleast mycelial growth was observed at 20°C and 35±1°C temperatures. Effect of light intensities was clearly observed on mycelial growth of H. ulmarius. This mushroom prefers total dark (no light) followed by natural diffused day light, 154 lux and 220lux respectively. Hydrogen ion concentration in the range of 5.0 to 6.0 was found suitable for the mycelial growth of H. ulmarius.
