A STUDY OF SEASONAL RAINFALL PATTERN IN THE MAHANADI DELTA OF ODISHA

摘要

The purpose of the present paper is to use Run Test as a statistical device to investigate asymptotic behavior or pattern of occurrence of seasonal rainfall during rainy season in the delta region of the River Mahanadi of Odisha. The study is, based on the analysis of daily rainfall data for 28 years collected from the four meteorological stations in the region. Results of the analysis show mat persistence of seasonal rainfall is erratic and the pattern of occurrence is purely random.
