摘要

The Department of Health (DH) recently commissioned the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to produce guidelines on promoting mental wellbeing through productive and healthy working conditions. NICE published its report in November 2009, entitled Promoting Mental Wellbeing Through Productive and Healthy Working Conditions: guidance for employers. This policy release was designed to add weight to the National Stress Awareness Day campaign held on 4 November 2009, which is supported by the National Safety Executive. This is important as the National Safety Executive has evidence that employees in health and social work, among others, have some of the highest rates of self-reported stress, anxiety and depression (Health and Safety Executive, 2004).
