摘要

The introduction of microprocessor has brought revolution in applications arena. The microprocessor and microcontroller have found an indispensable place in various control applications in industries. In addition the microprocessor can be used for measurement applications as well in educational field. A simple arrangement for measuring impedances either in polar form or rectangular form using microprocessor is described in this paper. The values are recorded in a microprocessor and the values can be displayed either in polar form Z_X∠θ_X or the values of constituent components like resistance and inductance or capacitance. This makes students aware of microprocessor's ability as a measuring device having the benefits of any digital instrument and avoiding the need of complex balancing as in bridge networks.
