Iran Expects Azadegan Bids by Late January

Prequalified international oil companies have been given until the end of January to submit bids for the giant Azadegan onshore oil field development to state National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC), a senior executive said (IOD Aug.31’17). Reza Dehghan, the NIOC executive responsible for coordinating upstream contracts, told International Oil Daily that 14 companies including Royal Dutch Shell, Austria’s OMV, and Denmark’s Maersk Oil Gas — soon to be acquired by France’s Total — have been invited to bid for the prized Azadegan field, which is located on the border with Iraq where it is known as Majnoon.
