An ESR study at 4 K of the reaction between H and Ni(CO)4

A new ESR spectrum has been generated by the photolysis at 4 K of Kr matrices containing HI and Ni(CO)4. Analysis of the nuclear hyperfine structure for1H,2H,61Ni, and13C leads to its assignment to the radical HNi(CO)3which has trigonal geometry and a2A1ground state inC3vsymmetry.
