US gasoil shortages resulting from a six-week crippling Venezuelan labor strike has prompted several European charterers to ship cargoes out of the Baltic to the US, shipping sources said Monday. At least four 70,000mt clean gasoil cargoes have been fixed out of the Baltic ports of Klaipeda and Ventspils to the US, market sources said. However, two of the cargoes are believed to the Ore Bulk Oil carriers (OBO's) which are not oil major-approved vessels. All of the cargoes are loading in the first half of January.
