摘要

This study proposed a new method to optimize the efficiency of three-phase induction motors. Motor efficiency was improved using optimization design and finite element method. The objective of this study was to develop IE3 premium efficiency induction motors that meet the International Electrotechnical Commission standard. The loss of motor, including the proportion of heavy iron losses and copper losses, was reduced by an object function. The ideal values of the design variables were determined by constraints, and the design parameters of the premium efficiency motor were obtained sub-sequently. A finite element analysis was conducted and the results were used to complete the optimized two-pole, 3-HP, and 60-Hz induction motor model. The results exceeded the standard for IE3 premium efficiency induction motors by 86.5%. The efficiency of the developed model was enhanced by 4.9% compared with the original model.
