Classification of instabilities in chemical reaction systems

摘要

All destabilizing processes in chemical reaction systems may be classified as (1) direct autocatalysis, (2) indirect autocatalysis (positive feedback), or (3) endminus;product inhibition (negative feedback). This classification scheme gives some perspective to models of sustained oscillations and multiple steady states which abound in the literature.
