The future of front line care.

This month Anne Keen MP published her findings from the first comprehensive review of our profession since 1972, Front Line Care: the future of nursing and midwifery in England (Keen, 2010). It sets out a future for a profession central to healthcare, with more responsibility to plan, deliver and monitor services. In amongst the many issues covered, one proposal does now seem at odds with the looming constraints on public services.
