Energy propagation properties of piezoelectric surface waves on cubic crystals

The wave surface of piezoelectric surface waves propagating on theZhyphen;cut metalhyphen;coated surface of a semihyphen;infinite cubic crystal (class 4macr;3mor 23) is calculated from the envelope of equiphase planes using the Lagrange multiplier method. It is found that the wave surface shows the cusps if the crystal is in the Cu region (c12gsim;c11minus;2c44) and has strong anisotropy.
