Multiple Input/Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless systems can realize large spectral efficiency and high performance communication links. For wideband transmissions, the combination of MIMO systems with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has recently attracted attention and it is called MIMO-OFDM. In MIMO-OFDM systems, the receiver needs to separate the overlapped signals over each subcarrier using an estimate of the MIMO channel. Therefore, in order to improve the performance of the receiver, accurate channel estimates are required. Especially, when the channel varies with time, channel tracking is needed. However, optimized channel tracking requires large computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a new, simplified but improved channel tracking scheme for MIMO-OFDM systems. The performance of the proposed scheme is confirmed by computer simulations.
