A new survey shows that microbes thrive in greater numbers and diversity than expected on aerosol particles spawned from cities.Researchers from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory,publishing in the January 2 issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (2006,doi 10.1073/ pnas.0608255104),surveyed the concentrations of various microbes living on urban aerosols.
