Therapeutic trials to study galactogogue effect on 'Herbosal' confidential Co-Cu-H and Lacto-G a herbal trio on milk production in cases of agalactia and hypogalactia.

Administration of 60 g twice daily for 10 consecutive days, in Gur/molasses as bolus, of the herbal treatments Herbosal, Co-Cu-H and Lacto-G (Respel pharma) to 8 mastitis-free, non-pregnant healthy cows and 9 buffaloes in early- to mid-lactation with symptoms of agalactia/hypogalactia due to thermal climatic and/or nutritional/parasitic stresses resulted in daily increases in their milk yields varying from 1.750 to 3.750 litres (average 2.125 litres). The increase was comparatively higher in cows and was recorded between day 6 and 10 and the highest yield was attained between day 16 and 21 post-treatment, which persisted for over 1 month without causing side effects in any of the treated animals, rather most evinced ovulationary heat, and some conceived later. Animals with parasitic infestations displayed apparent improvement in their general health and condition, as well as increasing their milk yield. However, a consistent decrease in milk yield was recorded in 6 non-treated hypogalactic otherwise healthy animals, despite their being prophylactively dewormed, akin to the treated animals.
