摘要

The antibacterial agents used for therapy of infectious diseases in lactating animais are partly excreted in milk which may be useful in treating mastitis by systemic administration. But the residues in milk may also pose a public health hazard resulting in hypersensitivity reactions (Jayakumar et al., 2000) as well as drug resistance in human beings besides causing economic losses to food and dairy industries by inhibitory effects on starter cultures (Sharma, 2000). Hence, the present investigation was undertaken to estimate the extent of excretion after a single i/v injection of amikacin in milk of normal and febrile goats since fever alters the disposition kinetics of certain drugs (Roy et al., 1992).
