Effect of extenders on preservation of cock semen of different breeds at refrigerant temperature.

Semen of broiler hybrid, desi cross and layer hybrid cocks was diluted in Tyrode and skim-milk diluents, and stored in a refrigerator for 48 h. In both diluents, sperm motility percentage at the end of storage was significantly higher in semen fromlayer hybrids than in that from the other types of cock. In the 2 diluents respectively, motility after 48 h averaged 15.0 and 25.8%, and the percentage of abnormal spermatozoa 30.52 and 27.13.
