Are young people welcome in the health service?

The Department of Health (DH) You're Welcome - Qtiality criteria for young people friendly health services was first published in 2005 with the objective of helping commissioners and providers of health services to improve NHS and non- NHS health services. A new and enhanced version of this was published on 15 April 2011. The DH now expects the standards embodied within You're Welcome and the review processes to be led locally, although it is important to stress that there will be no external agency involved in measuring compliance to the benchmarks (DH, 2007) .
