Constraints perceived by the Field Supervisors in the functioning of Milk Producers' cooperative societies in Western Uttar Pradesh

Forty Field supervisors were selected from Meerut and Saharanpur Milk Producers' Unions in Western Uttar Pradesh (U.P). Data were collected with the help of a sturctured interview schedule. Technical constraints emerged as the most serious constraints followed by marketing. Low price of milk, lack of transport facilities, advance payment by milk vendors and inadequate training of stockmen were very serious constraints. It is suggested that stockmen need to be properly trained so that they provide better service to the members. Conveyance facilities should be provided to the Field Supervisors for better and efficient service.
