Comparative economics of milk production in organised and unorganised sectors

Dairy co-operatives have been considered as viable institutions for rural development which have the capacity for generating employment and income among rural livestock owners. The present study was carried out to analyse the average cost of production of milk based on different cost concepts and to work out the economics of milk production in organised sector (members of milk co-operative societies) and unorganised sector (non-members of co-operative societies).
