LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKAEMIA IN EWE

Leukaemia is a neoplastic disease involving one or more of the leucocytic cell types of haemopoitic tissue. The fatal disease occurs in almost all domestic animals specifically more common in hog and cattle and rarely in sheep and goat (Jain, 1986). Among the different leucocytic cell type leukaemia, lymphocytic leukaemia is most common in adult sheep than low age group. It has been reported that in most of the cases the disease occurs due to leukaemia virus (Staraub, 1982; Ishino et al., 1989).
