A total of 160, day-old straight-run Cobb broiler chicks with body weights ranging from 46.9 to 49.1 g wererandomly distributed into eight groups of 20 each. The dietary treatments were: T,- Control ration (C)prepared as per IS 1347/92 specifications, T_2- C+0.1 % Maxigest, T_3- C+0.05 % Ambiozyme , T_4- C+0.01% Biosafe-plus, T_5- C+0.2 % Yeast-40, T_6- C+0.1 % Maxigest + 0.01% Biosafe-plus, T_7- C+0.075 %Maxigest+0.0075 % Biosafe-plus , T_8- C+0.05 % Maxigest+0.005 % Biosafe-plus. Starter ration was fed adlibitum up to 4th week and finisher ration during 5th and 6th week of age. The body weights of broilers at 6thweek of age were significantly higher (P<0.05) in T_2 compared to all other groups supplemented withdifferent combinations of probiotics and enzymes except T_7 Better feed conversion efficiency was noticedin T_2 compared to other groups. The cost of production per kilogram live weight was lowest in T_2 (Rs. 26.08)and highest in the control group (Rs. 29.62). The daily nitrogen and phosphorus retentions were significantlyhigher (P<0.05) in T_2 than all other groups except T_7. The highest calcium retention was found in T_2 followedby T_7 Thus, supplementation of the multienzyme, Maxigest enhanced the performance of broilerseconomically on a corn-soya based ration.
