The semen of breeder cocks of selected and control strains of White Leghorn were subjected of INT (Iodonitrotetrazolium) dye reduction test and grouped into good and medium based on their fertilizing ability predicted by the test. In a group fertility trial, pooled, fresh and diluted semen from good and medium groups of both the strains were inseminated in females with 5,10,15,20,25,35 and 50 millions of spermatozoa. Fertility increased with enhancement of insemination doses in good and medium groups of both the strains and the selected strain showed numerically overall higher fertility than control strain. The 25 million of spermatozoa was found to be suitable to yield desired fertility of 90 percent and above in both the strains. Thus, low insemination dose from superior males could cover large number of females and enables to maintain small number of elite sires saving huge expenses on feed and maintenance resulting higher economic return.
