摘要

abstract_textpCholesterol-appended benzimidazole 1 has been synthesized. The gelation ability of the compound 1 has been examined in different solvents and it exhibits strong gelation with silver perchlorate in DMF:H2O (1:1, v/v). Silver ion specific gelation in DMF:H2O highlights the compound 1 as excellent visual detector of Ag+ ions over a series of other metal ions. Furthermore, silver-induced gel of 1 shows thermally activated ionic conductivity due to the movement of Ag+ ions within the gel network./p/abstract_text
