This stunning dual german- and English-language publication features the extremely rare, high-quality and hitherto-unpublished colour photographs taken by Leutnant D.R. Karl Otto Holzapfel while serving as an observer with Luftwaffe reconnaissance unit 2.(H)/14 in Africa, equipped with the parasol-winged Henschel Hs 126.Although its initial pages contain a history of the unit's service in Africa, this is essentially an album of high-quality, well-reproduced images covering all aspects of its daily routines, its personnel and its aircraft. The first half of the book comprises an excellent selection of monochrome illustrations depicting, among many other things, an interesting variety of aircraft, including Messerschmitt Bf 109s and Bf 110s and the Me 323 Gigant transport.
