TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF RARE EARTH ELEMENTS APPLIED IN AGRICULTURAL SOILS

In order to predict the fate of rare earth elements(REEs)appliedto soils for agricultural purposes, a series of experiments includingthe adsorption-desorption, diffusion, and transfer of REEs in fourkinds of soils, were conducted using radioactive nuclide ~141Ce.Results showed that the adsorption rates of Ce(III)were extremelyrapid in different soil samples, while the desorption rates ofCe(III), on the contrary, were much slower. The desorptionquantities of Ce(III)differed in different types of soils.
