摘要

Carbon fiber-reinforced carbon matrix composites (carbon/carbon composites) are leading candidates for hightemperaure applciations. Unlike many high-temperature alloys and ceramics, carbon/carbon composites do not suffer strength degradatin up to temperatures in excess of 2000deg C in inert environmnets 1. They offer excellent thermal stability cou0pled with high mecahnical performance in inert atmosphere or in vacuum.
