The integration scale of LSI is increasing year by year. This trend is supported by advance of the digital circuit and signal processing technology. However, analog circuits such as A/D and D/A converters and RF circuits are indispensable components for human and wireless interface. Therefore, I believe that the assimilation of analog and digital circuit is became the key technology for the next generation circuit technology. I hope that this special section gives some clues to readers for the new technology.
