Thegvalues of the groundGgr;7state of Pu3plus;in cubic symmetry sites in CaF2, SrF2, and BaF2are 1.297thinsp;plusmn;thinsp;0.001, 1.250thinsp;plusmn;thinsp;0.002, and 1.187thinsp;plusmn;thinsp;0 004, respectively, as measured atTthinsp;equals;thinsp;1.2deg;Kby EPR techniques. By fitting thegvalues, estimates of the crystallinehyphen;field parameters are derived. It is shown that crystallinehyphen;field effects for Pu3plus;in the alkalinehyphen;earth fluorides are the same order of magnitude as in the lanthanide series.
