This paper examines bit error rate (BER) performances in MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) systems under wireless channels. Here, a new theoretical analysis technique that makes eigenvalue of channel matrix and phase difference between channel conditions in the receiver the parameters is proposed. Then this paper treats two wireless channel models. One is a model of additional white Gaussian noise (AWON) channels. The other is a model of channel condition where the probability density distribution of the phase of each channel condition is uniform and the receiving power of all channels is an equal level. BER performances under two wireless channel models in consideration of the phase difference between channel conditions are calculated by the theoretical and simulation analysis. According to results, it can be confirmed that BER performances by the theoretical analysis is almost equivalent to the simulation analysis. Therefore it is clear that this proposed theoretical analysis technique is an effective analysis method. In these investigations, it is indicated that eigenvalue of channel matrix and phase difference between channel conditions in the receiver are important parameters for obtaining good BER performances.
