摘要

The application of dipolar coupling theory to the computation of dipole derivatives is reviewed from both a microscopic and macroscopic basis. It is shown that the two methods are essentially equivalent. In addition, two frequently used approximations to the complete dipolar coupling formalism are discussed. The results indicate that the assumption of a Lorentz field is not unreasonable for a number of crystals.
